This year the Dano Memorial fund will once again be donating 2 scholarships a piece to Perkins High School, Huron High School and Sandusky High School. If you are interested in applying at your school, simply talk to your guidance office to obtain an entry form. Winners will be selected and announced towards the end of the school year.

We are 10 days away from what is sure to be a great event. The Erie County community, friends, family members, and local area businesses have shown us tremendous support in this great cause. I hope everyone is as excited as I am to see what this year’s event has in store!
As of this post, we have 39/40 teams signed up and ready to go, and over 20 local businesses and families have shown their support by donating money as a contributing hole sponsor!
This year’s event will bring back the cornhole fundraiser, the 50/50, the cigar and bourbon station, plenty of door prizes and hole prizes, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place team prizes – and even an award for the last place team. And – let’s not forget that the ugly black and yellow football we kicked into the pond last year will find it’s way there again on the eve of the Browns home opener!
Much in store, so put on your best Dano brown and orange, and we’ll see you at Woussickett Golf Club on Saturday, September 7!

orial Scholarship Fund awarded 6 scholarships this year to local area graduating students from Perkins, Huron, and Sandusky High School. This year’s winners were selected based largely upon a written essay that showed the recipients dedication to hard work in the face of some adversity. We are proud to announce the first 6 winners the Dano Memorial Fund has ever donated to:

With the first annual Dano Memorial bowling tournament in the books, our team has shifted focus to the 2013 golf scramble.
The bowling tournament turned out to be a huge success. With the help of our volunteers, friends and family, and the Star Lanes family, we were able to raise over $1,000 for the Dano Memorial Scholarship Fund! Thanks to all who attended and bowled. We will surely have another tournament next year, and we look to make it bigger and better as we have more time to plan the 2nd time around.
As for the scholarship fund, we are e
xtremely excited to award 6 scholarships to local area students this spring. Two winners were selected from each of the following schools: Huron High School, Perkins High School, and Sandusky High School. Each winner will be awarded a $500.00 scholarship thanks to all of our supporters. The winners will be awarded their scholarships at each of the respective school’s scholarship/awards night. Once they have been awarded, the winners will be posted on this website along with their story.
In closing, we will have early-bird entry forms available for the 2nd Annual Dano Memorial Golf Outing very soon. Participants who submit their team payment by a certain date will be given a discount on entry. We are also working diligently on obtaining 501(c)(3) charitable status, and should have it settled before too long. That means that all of the local businesses who donated money to our cause, or who sponsored a hole, will be able to write their donations off next year as charitable donations!

We have officially announced that the 1st Annual Dano Memorial bowling tournament has been set for Saturday, April 20 at Star Lanes. The tournament is a USBC Sanctioned, 5- person team event. It is a one-day only event and will start at 1:00 pm.
80% of the prize fund will be giving away at the tournament and 1 in every 4 teams will cash in. The other 20% of of the prize fund being generated through the tournament will be donated to the Dano Memorial Scholarship Fund.

The deadline for entry is Wednesday, April 17. Entry is limited to the first 24 teams entered, so get your team registered quickly!
