With the first annual Dano Memorial bowling tournament in the books, our team has shifted focus to the 2013 golf scramble.

The bowling tournament turned out to be a huge success. With the help of our volunteers, friends and family, and the Star Lanes family, we were able to raise over $1,000 for the Dano Memorial Scholarship Fund! Thanks to all who attended and bowled. We will surely have another tournament next year, and we look to make it bigger and better as we have more time to plan the 2nd time around.

As for the scholarship fund, we are extremely excited to award 6 scholarships to local area students this spring. Two winners were selected from each of the following schools: Huron High School, Perkins High School, and Sandusky High School. Each winner will be awarded a $500.00 scholarship thanks to all of our supporters. The winners will be awarded their scholarships at each of the respective school’s scholarship/awards night. Once they have been awarded, the winners will be posted on this website along with their story.

In closing, we will have early-bird entry forms available for the 2nd Annual Dano Memorial Golf Outing very soon. Participants who submit their team payment by a certain date will be given a discount on entry. We are also working diligently on obtaining 501(c)(3) charitable status, and should have it settled before too long. That means that all of the local businesses who donated money to our cause, or who sponsored a hole, will be able to write their donations off next year as charitable donations!
