11066797_553037271500050_3587366420447091255_nThe team event (being held Saturday, March 19 at 1:00 pm) has started to fill up with reservations. As it stands right now, we have 8 team spots left to reserve. So, if you have a team or know you will have a team, please let me know ASAP by texting me (419-656-2625) or emailing me (jarrett.lang@gmail.com).

Once all 24 team spots have been reserved, I will start a wait list and will give all reserved teams a week or two to get their entry forms and money in before I start bumping reservations for those who are on the wait list.

So! Get your entry form and money in to me or Star Lanes if you have a team reserved so I don’t have to do that!

Entry forms can be downloaded to the right by clicking on the entry form, and you can view the current list of team reservations by clicking here!

The doubles and singles events are being held Sunday, March 20 starting at 11:00 am. We should have plenty of room for these events.

Thanks in advance and we look forward to seeing everyone at this year’s tournament!

The preliminary pairings and starting holes have been posted here – https://danomemorial.com/pairings-2/

These are subject to change. I have had a lot of requests to pair specific teams together so text me if I have something wrong (419-656-2625).

Thanks and see you all soon.

One month to go and FULL with a wait list!

It’s amazing to see how quickly the 40 team list filled this year. It sure seems like everyone looks forward to this event every year, and I am very blessed to be a part of it. Even though it is a lot of work for our committee, we thoroughly enjoy setting it up. It’s so fun to see everyone get together and have a good time!

With that said, please send your entry fee for your team in ASAP if you have a spot reserved on the “Teams Entered” page. I actually have a small wait list that I know will build over the next few weeks, and I don’t want to have to bump anyone because they haven’t paid.

We have had a policy since we started that we do not like collecting entry fee money the day of the event. With everything that goes on that day, we prefer to have the entry fees in ahead of the scramble. So do us a favor and write a check ($320 per team) and put it in the mail or drop it off to The Dano Memorial Fund, 1003 Wyndham Lane, Sandusky, OH 44870.

Thanks again, and we will see everyone at the event!

-Jett and the Committee

P.S. – Don’t be afraid to add a team to the wait list if you are too late. Chances are we will have a few drop out in the next few weeks… happens every year! So, you have a good shot at getting in!

Want to get involved?

scholarship_homepage0011As we near yet another Dano Memorial outing, there are plenty of ways to get involved! Each year, the Dano Memorial charity organization donates over $5,000 to local area graduating seniors via scholarship. We also donate to the Perkins High School bowling and baseball teams among other organizations.

Do you want to donate or participate in the outing this year?

We are looking for the following help:

  • Hole Sponsors – $125 – includes a logo sponsor sign and program mention (great for a business!)
  • Door and/or Hole Prizes – anything you want to donate that we can raffle off or give away at the event!
  • Volunteers to assist throughout the day – let me know if this interests you

To donate, simply download an entry form located to the right of this page and send it in with your information and a check made payable to “The Dano Memorial Fund.”

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact me at 419-656-2625. Thanks!

Why I love the bowling tournament, and Dano would have, too…

Posted by thejett016 on March 4, 2015

Here we are, three days away! As much as I love the golf outing in the fall because it is the charity’s primary “earner,” the bowling tournament is easily my favorite. Our tournament is a traditional team, doubles and singles event at it’s finest. Yes, the payout is only 80% because 20% goes to the charity, but it’s still a cash competition.

Dano and I loved bowling in these types of tournaments together, so I know he would be just as excited as I am if he were here. I mean, what else would we be doing on a cold weekend in early March? Any bowler knows that during the winter, when it’s cold and dreary, and it gets dark early, it’s easy to go stir-crazy. But, you can always hit the lanes. League night always gives you something to look forward to. And if you are lucky, there might be a good tournament, with good people, and good drinks being held over the weekend.

Many of you probably met Dano or came to know him through the sport of bowling. For him, like most of us, leagues and tournaments are about more than just the sport of bowling. They are about being social, getting out of the house, having a few laughs, and throwing the rock. So, that’s how we built this tournament, to be more of a social event than anything, but to keep the competitiveness alive in the setup.

So remember, this weekend is about enjoying yourself and the people around you. We hope to see some high scores. In true Dano spirit, hopefully the Lizzi boys don’t put that “damn pro shot out there!” That was always Dano’s excuse when he couldn’t score! Ha! Let’s go “off the sheet” for the pops this weekend!
